  • Process redesign and behaviour interventions to reduce the amount of general and recyclable material being discarded as hazardous waste
  • Implementing a sustainable bicarbonate cartridge disposal process through either rinsing the cartridges for recycling or procuring dedicated bins

Optimising use of Dialysis Machines

  • Auditing and standardising the use of dialysis machine functions (e.g. standby, online reinfusion) by identifying variation across nurses, shifts, and rooms, and implementing a unified protocol to support consistent best practice

Benchmarking Dashboard

The KitNewCare project will develop a benchmarking tool based on the 4 factor Life Cycle Assessment carried out at the 4 European pilot sites. This tool will enable kidney care centers to assess their environmental, social, financial, and health outcomes.
