KitNewCare newsletter, second edition: “From Evidence to Action”
The second edition of the KitNewCare newsletter is out, bringing together the project’s open science, its joint work with sister projects in Malmö and the next webinars in the Kidney Care SusNet series.
Since the first issue, KitNewCare has been publishing its papers, datasets and deliverables in its open Zenodo community. This edition rounds up six weeks of news on that output: a library of life cycle data from the four pilot sites, new evidence on peritoneal dialysis and haemodialysis footprints, the case for procurement as a sustainability lever, and a scoping review showing what the field still does not measure.
The newsletter also reports from Sustainable Healthcare Week in Malmö, where KitNewCare, NetZeroAICT and CARING NATURE held a joint session on measurement, digital innovation and implementation. Their shared conclusion: evidence alone is not enough. Data availability, staff capacity, procurement, regulation and management support all decide whether change moves from pilot to routine practice.
Finally, readers will find details of two upcoming Kidney Care SusNet webinars: reusable tourniquets across a UK regional kidney network on 22 October, and ambient heat and acute kidney injury on 26 November.
Haven’t received it yet? Subscribe to the KitNewCare newsletter and the next edition, with a new batch of scientific papers and news releases, will land in your inbox.
